Abstract
A high percentage of children who develop scabies have been found to develop persistent reddish-brown infiltrated nodules, particutarly on the covered areas of the body (the axillae, shoulders, groin, buttocks, and genital area). These lesions often persist for months despite therapy, and when present may be diagnosed, both clinically and on histopathologic examination, as form of histiocytosis of Iymphoma.
We present a case of nodular scabies of infant which occurred in 11-month-old female who had pruritic nodules on trunk and extremities. The diagnosis was confirmed by skin biopsy. Treatment with 10% crotamiton ointment and intralesional injection of triamcinolone acetonide was good.
